It's a favorite

I've always loved this song!

Words and music by: Clara W. McMaster
1961 Intellectual Reserve, Inc.

Whenever I hear the song of a bird
And look at the blue, blue sky
Whenever I feel the rain on my face
Or the wind as it rushes by
Whenever I touch a velvet rose
Or walk by a lilac tree
I’m glad that I live in this beautiful world
Heavenly Father created for me

He gave me my eyes that I might see
The colorful butterfly wings
He gave me my ears that I might here
The magical sounds of things
He gave me my life, my mind, my heart
I thank him reverently for all his creations
Of which I’m apart
Yes, I know Heavenly Father loves me

Harry Potter

So, I watched Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 1
on Friday Nov 19
The actors really captured their character beautifully
in what they where thinking and going through.
It was very different from the other movies.
I loved it - can't wait to see it again!!!

I have to admit I've never read the books but that going to change.
But I have watched all the movies. I had a weekend movie marathon, watching
them again before the new release. One of my many favorite
quote comes from Chamber of Secrets

Ron: "The spiders, they want me to tap dance! I don't want to tap dance!"
Harry: "You tell those spiders Ron".
Ron: "Alright. I'll tell' em. *Lays back down

Summer 2010

I'm so happy for the summer - When so many things are going on!!!
I have to start with "Bogi"
He's the new family dog! We have had him for 4 month
now and he has tons of energy.
He's a Bichon Frise which is a french word - in English it
means "small white dog", which he is. Bichon Frise
are "merry" and "cheerful". They tend to get along well with
both children and other animals.
We are tending a pet chinchilla for a family friend.
Bogi enjoys barking and licking at her face. He keep us busy.
First day he arrived he was - 3lbs

Now the some summer time Activities!!!

My final day working at USDB was June 4.
I started getting sick the next day - bummer.
Monday June 7, David had a book signing in down town
SLC but there was no way I could make it - grrr.
BUT he also had a Book signing in Orem the
next day that I did go to.
He also sang some of his songs - which cheered me up to see David Archuleta!!!
"Chords of Strength" by David Archuleta
Best Selling List for New York Times!

On June 10, my friend "Surprise" from camp, got married - she had her reception at the
Lion House. It was beautiful and nice to see her and Sweet Pea
"The Dream Team Crafties!"

On June 12, I got my hair done. I love doing it cuz it is so much fun. I went to Temple Grounds on Temple Square to take pictures by the pretty flowers and the new hair-do.
I talked to the Sister Missionaries who told me I was funny and cute - they also mentioned that when I find right guy. That he needs to take me to the Temple and get married.
Amen to that!
Men are like parking spaces/the good ones are always taken...

In July I went to the "Living Aquarium" in Sandy Utah - had a lot of fish!!

The Brighton Reunion was July 30-31 2010.
Theme was *Rekindle *Faith * Friendship *Fun!!!
It was really nice go to Brighton to see friends and sing songs and learn
more about the history of Brighton Camp.

August 14, I went to my friend Gillian's, Wedding Reception.
She had an awesome cake!!!
While mingling, someone taped me on the shoulder and asked "Do you remember me?"
I knew that I knew her, but I remembered her name same time
she said "Brooke" that she was my dance technique Jr. Jazzel teacher.
(also Gillian cousin).
I love when we can sing "It's a Small World After All".
I think it's awesome that she remembered me as
she has had thousands of students.
Oh! Brooke was also Miss. Utah in 1994

On August 17, my mom and I went to "The Lion King" at the
Capitol Theatre.
It was totally amazing!!! I would love to see it again!!!:D

School Dayz

This was my fifth school year at USDB at times it got a bit stressful -
But if you know me I like to keep things on high note -

Highlights for the school year:

One of my students that I've had for past 3 years, every day when I'd walk in the classroom. She'd tell me she loved me and say I had beautiful hair. Also that she loved Hannah Montana as well and she always put a smile on my face. She also learned how to write her name this year and that was a happy day!!!:DWe went on cool field trips like The Corn Maze, Tracy Avery, Zoo, Oh and I would read this book called "Polar Bear What Do You Hear". It goes though different zoo animals and I can do a sweet elephant sound that the students enjoyed. When we saw elephants at the zoo, the student had to do their interpretation of elephant sound. I couldn't stop laughing - "Zuri" the baby elephant cute...We also went skiing, horse backing riding, did Festival of Tree's at Christmas time, The Childrens Museum, where we lost one of the students eye ball - I honestly never thought I'd ever say that but with 3 students without eyes, I guess it's something that was bound to happen.

I introduced the song "Corn Dogs" by Ryan Shupe, it was a hit!! We even made a week long event out of it. We made pigs in a blanket, tossed plastic corn dogs, rolled students in a blanket and sang the song a lot. Then at the end of the week we ate corn dogs - they thought it was awesome!!!

I wish all my students the best in all they do and that they continue to keep learning and move forward.

Apolo Anton Ohno

On Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - I took a well deserved day off from work to take part in a commercial that Apolo Anton Ohno (the most decorated Winter Olympian) was doing for a nutrition supplement company called the 8zone. When it air's you might see me in it as part of the crowd.
I got to the Oval a little after 11:30 am. Someone there, thought I was their daughter Cindy. I thought it was cool because my name is Mindy. We waited for like a half hour for things to get started - I mingled with other's who had taken the day off as well (we know how to have fun). Then the Producer told us what we needed to do and everyone was so excited!!! When Apolo appeared we were suppose to chant "Apolo" in unison.
We kept not being all together- and had to start over - So Apolo had to keep going back up the stairs to do it again - That was funny! Then they interviewed Apolo about how importance it is to stay active and be healthy. After that we all got in a line for his autograph and a picture. Which I was the last group to get both and you also had to have a stamped star on your hand to get it. Apolo is soo nice He asked me how I was doing and I said great! He said good! So simple but it was totally awesome!!!!:D

Can we say his name in unison this time???

Apolo

Found this on Desert News
(see if you can find me)

Totally awesome!

Autograph

Others might remember winning or losing;
I remember the journey."

Christmas M & M’s

As you hold these candies in your hand
and turn them, you will see
The ‘M’ becomes a ‘W’,
An ‘E’, and then a ‘3′.

They tell the Christmas Story
I’m sure it’s one you know.
It took place in a stable
A long, long time ago.

The ‘E’ is for the East,
Where the star shone so bright.
The ‘M’ is for the Manger,
where the Baby Jesus slept at night.

The ‘3′ is for the Wise Men,
Bearing gifts, with which they came.
‘W’ is for Worship,
Hallelujah! Praise His Name!

So as you eat these candies
Or share them with a friend,
Remember the meaning of Christmas:
It’s a love that never ends.
by Pam Ridenour

Merry Christmas!
